LATOYA WILSON Strong Towns Member Consultant
My name is Latoya and I am from New Haven Connecticut, but settled in Hamilton, NJ. I created WCRC to serve as a liaison to policy, education and STEAM-based industry stakeholders through public-private partnerships. My work involves expanding STEAM-based career pathway and work-based learning programs for youth and young adults.
In addition, collaborate with economic development stakeholders that will increase access to higher paying industries, property ownership, natural resources, as well as protect small businesses for underrepresented talent. Most importantly, increase contract opportunities for underrepresented economic and urban development professionals
My overall goal is to minimize displacement, increase wealth, and promote STEAM-based opportunities for vulnerable future and current talents. Although my work is located in the northeast, I am in the process of expanding in other parts of the country and internationally. You can find out more about my work on rebuildworkforce.com.
